Will Larter left this review about Market Tavern
I'm used to pubs that are called Market Tavern being a little rough, but this is clearly an exception. Maybe it's all that grey paint. Pleasantly light and airy, with a high ceiling and lots of hanging plants, though they look artificial to me. My half of Selby Bitter from Jolly Sailor was very good (NBSS 3.5), and the only jarring note was a humorous notice, "if our dog doesn't like you, we probably won't either". Luckily I didn't see any dogs, so this proposition remains untested.

Quite a trendy place inside with dark grey painted walls, dark green bar front with a black counter and a tiled floor. The ceilings were up to roof height with large baskets hanging down full of artificial draping plants and lights. The bar area is positioned on the left as you enter with the seating around the outer perimeter all facing the bar. There was a small seating area near the entrance, only enough space for a couple of people.
Six handpumps serving Big Trip salted caramel porter, Jolly Sailor Brewery Selby Bitter, Little Critters Roar, Neepsend Idaho and Midas, Small World Brewery Summer Bank.

Tucked away off the main shopping streets of Brighouse, this pub looks like a small village hall. However, it turned out to be one of the highlights of Brighouse.
Despite its compact nature, the pub still stocks a changing and varied selection of 6 real ales. On my visit, these were Durham Berry Superstitious, Goose Eye Bitter & Chinook, Neepsend Blonde, Roosters Throwback & Sunbeam New Dawn. There were also a couple of ciders from Snail's Bank, which were Orchard Dry & Mango Cider.
A group of punters were in discussing some kind of nonsense (something about vegetarians, as I recall). But it created a convivial environment in which I could consume my very enjoyable Berry Superstitious, whilst admiring the vast pumpclip collection. Well worth a visit.
